Research On Security Protocols For Mobile Payment System Based On J2ME

The security protocols, which are crucially important to the mobile payment system (MPS), especially to the authentication of the user (mobile hand-held devices) in the wireless environment, determine the security properties or even the fate of whole system.At present, almost all mobile payment services are micro-payment based on SMS and WAP. Macro-payment involving the bank is in research yet, for example, I-mode. Chinese micro-payment is appearing freshly . In despite of the security advancement of J2ME, the system based on J2ME is not occur .The macro-payment based on J2ME must be a direction as the advancement of the mobile payment technology and the wider band and updated mobile device.Therefore, in this thesis, we investigate the existent mobile payment systems, study the characteristic and security requirement of the macro-payment, and consider the inherent security of the J2ME platform, and hereby propose a security protocol for mobile payment based on J2ME, emphasizing the authentication to the user.Then we analyze the security and feasibility of the protocol according to the criterion of design and implement of security protocol. Finally, we realized the security protocol for the mobile payment system on the platform of J2ME. The conclusion we have drawn is that security protocol achieves its security goals, has the ability to resist usual attacks and enjoys high efficiency.The main research works are as follows:â—† We study the typical mobile payment systems and their implement technology andsecurity measure and merit and demerit.â—† According to the characteristics and requirement of the macro-payment, weconcluded the principles of design and implement of security protocols.â—† According to the principles of design and implement of security protocols and the characteristics of the true runtime environment of mobile payment, we designed security protocols for mobile payment system based on J2ME emphasizing the authentication of the user and then discuss the some characters of the security protocols such as the security and feasibility.â—† Using mobile telephone simulator, we realized a system of mobile payment system based on J2ME platform and testing the security of the system.
