The automation vehicles system's functions include elevating, transporting, queue, automatically delivery, vertically move and automatically choose its way to go. It's best used in transporting lines in industries such as manufacturing, automobile, machinery and home appliances. It is widely distributed in domestic industrial companies. The automation vehicle system's performance and quality in much degree decide the safety, efficiency and production in the production processes. Nowadays most automation vehicle systems in our country are controlled by PLC, and the systems are designed in an old structure of DCS.Since DCS has its shortnesses such as high complexity, difficult to maintain, high cost of installation and debugging. This research tries to apply FCS based on PROFIBUS in automation vehicle system. FCS is the most advanced computer control technology which integrates computer technologies, network technologies and control technologies. It is a fully distributed, digitalized open control system. And it will become the prevailing control system in world wide.This paper shows the studies on four aspects: 1. The design of automation vehicle system's electrical structure and rail track's topology. The main task is to design the track, the vehicles structure, the power lines and signal lines, choose the sensors that enable the system to run properly. And studies on the elevating parts. 2. Study on the application of PLC in the system, include its functionality, reliability, and how to choose its type. In the principle of high performance, high quality, low costs, chooses SIMATIC S7 300 and ET200S remote I/O station to be the core control units, to control the whole system process and each vehicle's motions respectively. And design and implemented the software in detail. 3. Study on the communication method of the system. After compared the FCS with DCS, we chose FCS as the system's structure, and then implemented it, and it works well. 4. Study on the software configuration and programming. Including the method of configuration, and some problems that occurred in programming.The result of study make use of the latest technologies. The technologies are advanced and highly automated, safe and reliable, easy to extend and to maintain. And it is best fitted in mining, manufacturing and chemistry industry's automation vehicle transportation lines. It makes great sense in improving domestic industries' production, efficiency and safety. And thus has a bright future of applications.
