Electrically operated valve actuator, one of device, is widely used in industry and civil area. In our country, in order to realize its intellgent and digitized networking, the field of valve actuator is faced with upgrade of technology for promoting the control level. With the continuous development of modern information technology and computer, industrial field bus technology is nowdays a hot point in the area of industrial automation. PROFIBUS-DP is one of industrial field bus which has several stronge points such as consummate technolodge and wide-area application. This task is to apply PROFIBUS-DP technology to the valve control field and develop valve controller based on PROFIBUS-DP. The task is consigned by a joint venture in JiangSu and it is included in the list of projects which were significant technological innovation of JiangSu Committee of Economic Trade in 2006.The thesis summarizes the PROFIBUS fieldbus protocol and principle of it's communication in detail, as well as the basal functions of PROFIBUS—DP. Secondly, author puts forward the scheme of developing PROFIBUS-DP communication unit by using SPC3 Chip. In this paper, the memory allocation and interface of the PROFIBUS protocol chip SPC3 which determines both the hardware function and telegram processing of SPC3 are analyzed. The author compiles the program of interface and the file of GSD based on analyzed state of PROFIBUS-DP and operation flow roundly. Finally, author puts forward and carries out test scheme of PROFIBUS-DP slave station. The hardware test, communication test and on-line test of slave station are successfully accomplished.Otherwise, the paper describes the design of Electrically operated valve actuator in detail. Author sets about the system diagram and the design of hardware and software from analyzing the function. The author realizes the good man-machine interface using WINCC. It can be operated simply.After testing prototype, we conclude that the design achieves the design requirement. Now, we realize remote controlling electrically operated valve actuator based on field bus of PROFIBUS-DP, which is a good reference to many projects in correlative area.
