| OLAP systems have widely used in many enterprises. If reserved, an OLTP system can add up vary large amount of "history" data. The work of data warehouse and OLAP is to manage and analysis these history data and provide decision support. This paper discusses the concept, characteristic of data warehouses and OLAP systems. Based on the data of DuoBang Medicine, the sales data warehouse has been constructed. The DuoBang sales data warehouse is designed as the star model with the profit as measure, the time, customers, medicine as dimensions. The DBMS platform is SQL Server 2000. The manual manipulation, SQL statements and program segments are combined to clean data. DTS is used to convert data from OLTP system to data warehouse. OLAP Services is used in OLAP analysis. The final dada warehouse and OLAP system can supports such analysis as: ·The relationship between profit and medicine type; ·The relationship between profit and customer type; ·The relationship between profit and time or region. Users can obtain decision support information from the analysis system. Due to the trustworthy data, simple and clear measure and dimension structure, and easy user interface by click or drag, this analysis is usable.
