Grid is the next-generation Internet Computing platform. The key task of Grid aims at the management of a variety of software and hardware resources distributed across the Internet wide-area based environment, which composes a uniform and virtual computing platform of shared resources. As a pillar of Grid computing model, Grid data management has always been an intensive research issue. Nowadays a large of number of Grid application from the scientific and commercial domains is in great need of database support. Therefore, how to widely fulfill the data management requirements from Grid application, has become an impending research topic.This thesis begins with the analysis of application requirement of data resource sharing and collaborative management in the dynamic and open Grid context, DartConsole proposes a series of management concepts for database grid resources, based on a combination of the current means, of data-source centered information sharing and integration management. It has solved the following problems: uniform database resources access, dynamic monitor and performance management under database grid, security management based on VO, etc. DartConsole, compatible with the existing Grid service architecture specification - OGSA, is a database resource management platform oriented to the Grid computing environment. Furthermore, the development takes advantage of the mechanism of Eclipse plug-ins. It will satisfy the reliability, stability, standarlization and high performance required by grid software management. It is also reusable, extensible, and easy to be adapted to the user's requirement. The paper proposes an approach of rule inference based on semantics of the resources. It is efficiently for users to search appropriate resources for their computing task. Moreover, it makes the resource more manageable and higher-level semantics inference possible. Also, it provides interfaces for services such as fault monitoring and self-recovery. This thesis also describes design and implementation of a prototype.
