With the development of RF(Radio Frequency) technology and IC(Integrate Circuit) technology, the realization of wireless communication function becomes easier and the speed of data transmission becomes rapider too. Especially under the circumstances, such as the devices of the strong maneuverability or the places people are not easy to arrive, the advantages of the wireless communication technology show more outstanding. By the use of the above-mentioned advantages of the wireless communication technology, the paper brings forward a scheme of the wireless telemeter system in short range used to test timely torque signals. The scheme provides a new technical approach to solve the testing problem of engine's power and torque and rotation rate of transmission rotating parts, which is set in a strait space.First, the paper introduces overseas and home short distance wireless communication technology actuality according to the background, purpose and significance of task research. Low power short distance wireless communication technology is chosen to monitor timely torque signals of gearing by analysis and comparison. Second, by the theory research of short distance wireless communication technology, the paper has achieved the corresponding software and firmware design of the wireless telemeter system in short range according to the system function and technology requirement and formed the actual communication system. Finally, the imitational experiment has been done successfully. The experiment has verified that the scheme is practical and correct. The paper has done the following tasks: (1) the communication system satisfies the requirement of low power and miniaturization by the use of nRF2401chip of Nordic company; (2) the antenna of the wireless receiving and sending selects λ/4 printed monopole antenna, the antenna has many advantages, such as small dimension, low cost and easy machining etc; (3) the power supply on swivel adopts the way of wireless inductive power supply, it solves the problem of short life of batteries; (4) the data are transmitted to computer by USB interface, which not only improves transmission velocity of data, but also makes the system strong agility, which establishes the base for the system spread in the future.
