China is the top brewer of the world, and beer industry plays an important role in the development of national economy. However, the technology level of our brewhouses' equipments lags behind abroad, and great disparity exits in bottling process of beer production. Beer bottle must be inspected before being bottled. Traditional inspection mode which relies on human eyes can not guarantee the accuracy due to the high speed of assembly line. The system based on machine vision has the advantage of high speed, high precision and high reliability. It can inspect object without touching. Adopting this system in beer bottle inspection can overcome the weakness of human eyes and improve automation level and productivity greatly. To inspect beer bottle on assembly line, the inspection system must be capaple of processing vision image in real-time. Digital Signal Processor is able to match this damand well.The major contributions in this dissertation are as follows:An empty bottle vision inspection system is designed, focusing on the characteristics of beer bottle inspection and the actual requirements of production. CCD technology, optics technology, control technology and realtime image processing technology are employed in the design to guarantee accuracy and inspection speed.A realtime image processing system based on DSP has been developed. The system can be used in many vision systems with the structure of DSP+CPLD. In PCB design, the layout technique of high frequency is adopted to prevent the potential EMC problems.The software design of DSP is accomplished, focusing on the demand of inspection and the characteristic of DSP. The storage and transfer of image data are discussed, which made the system capable of processing mass data realtime with limited hardware resource. Flexible setting of interrupt and DMA is adopted in the software design, which improves the efficiency of data transfer and performance of DSP.
