To measure up with the requests, beer bottle must be washed and inspected before being bottled. Traditional inspection mode is to inspect by human using lighting, but its precision and speed is difficult to meet our needs. Bottle visual inspection system using optics technology, CCD technology and image processing technology can inspect beer bottle without any touch. It is provided with the advantage of high speed and high precision. Moreover it can overcome the disadvantage of human's eyes and improve greatly production efficiency and automation degree.In this dissertation, the theory, research actuality and development trend of visual inspection are mainly discussed. Aiming at the characteristic of beer bottle inspection, this dissertation discusses the project as a whole and focuses on the reach of the following two sections: one is to build a rational realizing hardware platform for the requirement of the real time. The other is to design the software of the image acquisition and processing algorithm in FPGA or DSP. The main work in this dissertation is as follows:1. Comparing the visual inspection systems at present in the world, an application model of the image processor is designed. The processor combines a reconfiguration hardware FPGA and a software-programmable DSP. It is provided with higher performance and higher operation veracity over general-purpose processor.2. According to application model, hardware is selected firstly, and then particular hardware circuit is designed.3. The software design of image acquisition arithmetic based FPGA is finished using VHDL language in XILINX ISE4.14. This dissertation describes the realization methods of median filter and edge detection in TMS320C6201. And also, the software design of this arithmetic is discussed in this dissertation. The flow chart of the software and its illustration is presented particularly.
