Previous studies about "public trust on Chinese mass communication media" often focus on media themselves to find why level of this trust fell. We think that kind of view angle is too narrow, so we try to broaden it by put this problem in the view of the society and trust, survey the three crucial factors related to the trust level: "public evaluating standards", "media's own performance" and "characteristics of the social trust" across-the-board. We find all these three factors have unbalanced structures. When public evaluating media, they always weigh media's attitude much heavier than media's ability. Political forces, economic interests and public needs are acting on media so it can not behave well. Special trust prevails in the society, while social trust totally runs into crisis, it's uneasy for mass communication media to build public trust. In our opinion, these unbalanced structures reflect society's prevalent problems and improper notions hidden behind, deep-seated reasons for these are conflicts in the field of social perspectives about values. We continue our research to find three value conflicts: "to be virtuous or just common", "to be a monist or pluralist" and "to rupture or continue", regarding them influences public trust on mass communication media greatly, and are the roots of the problem. So lastly we put forward some improving methods contraposing them, hoping these will help public trust on our national mass communication media to increase.
