Design And Realization Of The Workflow Application In The Platform For E-document Exchange

As the electronic age coming, workflow application becomes a kind of important application, and need to be connectted to the other applications, even build the enterprise's information portal.At first, this paper Analysised the change of the requirement for the workflow application and the change of the design for them. And notice that with the XML's growing, more and more advantages are found.Then, this paper offers a kind of workflow application by using ASP,XML and workflow engine. That is said, using ASP to control the procedure, using the COM+ components to realize the workflow engine, and using the XML to communicate between the components. The system takes the controller of the workflow and the workflow itself apart, and makes the managerment for workflow easier.Based on this system, two applications are built: the e-document exchanging platform and Office Automation system. In these two systems many key technologies: the administrator's self-defining for workflow, the trail of the document's treating, the short message sending for moble phone, the integration between different systems by XML, etc. are realized. These two systems were provided to the departments of Fujian province by 2003 September and CPTF Optronic Co., Ltd. by 2003 December, realized kinds of requirements from the customers, and run well till now.At last, the paper compares this system with Lotus Domino. And makes a conclusion that this system has its advantages: lower cost, lower requirement for the hardware, powerful analysis, good data-consistency, kinds of interfaces to the other systems.In a word, this system could take the place of Lotus Domino in some ways, and provide the governments and enterprises another choise to build their OA sytem or integrating their applications。...
