With the rapid development of the computer and information technologies, networked manufacturing has been put forward as a new manufacturing mode so that the research of networked manufacturing has already become one of the most important subjects. Also, the researches on the theory and technologies of the information security in networked manufacturing have been the most important in implementing a networked manufacturing system. This thesis is devoted to the realization of manufacturing information sharing and security of virtual enterprises. Firstly, based on the studies of networked manufacturing and virtual enterprises, the necessary and special requirements of information integration of virtual enterprises are analyzed. Considering the current programs of information integration, STEP and XML languages are applied to the networked manufacturing. Furthermore, a STEP-XML-based architecture of the information integration of virtual enterprise is proposed.Secondly, the standard of STEP and XML languages, including the language of EXPRESS and DTD, are studied. According to their comparability in defining data structure, the mapping of STEP and XML is realized. Thirdly, the information security problems and requirements of virtual enterprises are studied. By the way, on the basis of Digital Certificate and XML security technique, identity certification is used to the information security strategies of virtual enterprises. Finally, with above technologies and strategies, an prototyping system is developed to realize the information integration and security of virtual enterprises.
