With the development of Control System and Computer Technology, the level of domestic automation at industry improves notably. Distributed Control System(DCS) is adopted widely in running and controlling of industrial field. It has the distributed structure, which is the embodiment of supervising centrally and monitoring distributed. It has the great control ability and good practicability; also it can be operated easily. The technology of configuration software has made rapid progress. The Kingview is effective and powerful for configuring a system. The configuration software is suitable for various computer control system used in industrial processes owing to its rich functions, simple operation and good practicality.The big main motors used in steel rolling are the central unit of the plant. When they are working continuously, the temperatures of the motors grow fast and will be damaged. So it is meaningful for the design of the temperature monitoring and control system of the. big main motors.The main task of the dissertation is to design a real-time monitoring and control system and design the hardware after a lot of research of the configuration software kingview. The system can monitor the temperature of the motors neatly. It solves the problem of the practical application of the project.The software of the system is based on the configuration software kingview, which is designed for the monitoring of the system. The user can modify the alarm temperature setting and the scheme of the control. There are two kinds of database used in the system. They are the database in the Kingview and the Microsoft Access Database. The first one is used for querying historical data and real-time data monitor, and the second one is used for storing the alarm historical data and with it the Kingview can query the alarm historical data. Fuzzy Expert System is adopted to control the transducers, and to control the temperature in the motors. The system also offers a favorable User Interface.The design of the hardware takes the reliability and stability into account. It chooses the hardware with the lowest price but with the highest performance. The logo series PLC is adopted for the switch between the manual control and the auto control, and therefore enhances the reliability greatly.The hardware and the software are affective in the system and they cooperate with each other. Both of them can give alarms. To ensure the signal is stable, signal isolationinstrument is used in the design of hardware and the software filter is used in the design of software.Now the system is running stable and credible. It can also save energy effective. The system can also be easily expanded for the new requirements of the plant.
