The rapid economic development results in a increase demands for various energy, especially for micro granular mineral resources. In recent years, there are still much more difference in mineral processing industry comparing china with other developed country as a whole. The accuracy and efficiency for sorting of mineral no longer suffice for the demands of relative industry. There is not enough stress on the development of flotation experimental platform, and that laggard flotation testing platform restricts the progress of flotation technology of mineral. The improvement of automated level for the equipment of Flotation process which is the most extensively used technique in the field of mineral processing can increase the sorting quality of mineral.With the rapid development of the modern industrial control technology, computer control technology is more and more mature and cheap, and it has been widely used in many fields for the merits of intuitive and nimble programming, stable and reliable network communication, friendly interface and simple operation. According to the characteristics of flotation test system in kunming university of science and technology, in this paper, the computer controlled system of whole floatation column experimental platform is designed and realized by using the the fuzzy PID control algorithm, S7-200PLC, frequency converter technology.This system not only can be used to complete a single selectively property test in manual mode, but also can be used to complete the tests for a multifarious performance parameter by automatic mode at a time.In this system, the Founder PC is used as upper computer, the configuration king is used as the monitoring system software, and the logic controller S7-200PLC is used as lower computer, also including the corresponding communication cable, wriggle pump, frequency converter, all kinds of measurement instruments and other equipment. The monitoring system has perfect man-machine interface, and can realize some functions, as real-time monitoring, data management, security management and so on. The lower computer is mainly used for data collection and instruction transmitting, so it can realize the functions, such as automatic stop-start operation, safety interlocking and automatic control for testing etc. The design scheme and methods in this paper have certain practical value and theoretical significance for the future design for the similar automatic control system of flotation experimental platform.
