Along with the quickly development of the computer science, electronics technology and other new subjects, the image processing technology has been quickly applied in every walk of life.This paper studied the application of the image processing in industrial inspect, exampled by developing the image inspect and processing system, it's implied to gearbox assembly line.The quality question in gearbox assembly line is mainly including miss place etc. The project studied by this paper is adopted Personal Computer and automatic control system to make up of this inspect and processing. Personal Computer is mainly used to accomplish the image analyzing and processing. Automatic control system is charged of stopping line and displaying alarm.The research content includes two aspects: the hardware and the software.For the hardware, the Author put forward one resolve scheme and studied hardware structure and principle of whole processing system.For the software, after knowing well about the whole image process domain, after analyzing and introducing detailedly the whole working process about gearbox assembly line. The author studied mainly technologies of part of gearbox orientation, segmentation and identify of the miss place.
