With the development of wireless communication technology, especially the advent of 2.5G and 3G time, nowadays the mobile phones have more and more features and value-added functions. Mobiles are not only traditional phone tools, but also mixtures all kinds of new features, including: PDA, camera, etc. All these functions are built on the basis of mobile operating system. In addition, the most appealing thing to mobile users is value-added services, such as: SMS, MMS, and so on. High technology brings people the convenient andhigh-quality lives, so the smarter phone is expected to appear. Now this miracle have been implemented by smart phone operating system, which supports more feature services, including auto-downloading games, traveling guide, traffic info, sending and receiving email, etc. Now the new increasing space of mobile phone is value-added services, this makes a pretty huge challenge to the mobile terminal platform.This paper mainly introduces the development of domestic smart phone and value-added services, and makes an investigation and forecast of the future of value-added services on the smart phone. In order to meet the need of the value-added services, two mainstream mobile terminal platform appear, namely JAVA and BREW. The .author analyzes their features and advantages from the perspective of architectures and runtime mechanisms. Besides this, the author introduces a new terminal platform - "Elastos" smart phone terminial platform in terms of disadvantages of the former two mainstream platform.At first, this paper introduces the key technology of Elastos smart phone runtime platform -CAR component technology. Clearly describe the origin of CAR component and the meaning of application on smart phone. Deeply explains the implement details of CAR technology, how to encapsiile COM technology of Microsoft Inc., how to encapsule the object creating component, the expansion of CAR technology based on COM and the far-reaching effect of this expansion to Internet applications. At second, in detail describes the architecture of Elastosterminal runtime platform and the implement of Elastos component runtime platform on Elastos operating system. Then, during the operating process of giving value-added service, in terms of the terminal platform of mobile phone, describes the mechanism of the third-part components supplied by sp ?how to running on the Elastos component runtime platform with the feature of encapsuling self-describe module. At last, gives a case about how to make a third-part component.According to the recently two years' development of Chinese communication industry, we easily find that the profit brought by value-added service is increasing at very fast speed. In order to match this trend of value-added service, Elastos gives a convenient and efficient resolution. It not only has the compatibility, security, flexibility of JAVA, but also has the efficiency of BREW and other features, so it has the pretty huge space of development. Of course, the quality of smart phone terminal platform needs the test of a lot of mobile phone users. At the same time, we will do our best make it more perfect.
