The bank card, as a kind of new-type comprehensive financial means of payment, is the result that traditional financial transaction and modern information technology are combined. The environment for accepting bank card, is the infrastructure of whole industry of bank card, and the key link in the whole transaction procedure of bank card, which includes Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) as an important part. ATM, as the window for bank provide quick and effective self-service for customer, has been extensively accepted by domestic financial institution and customer. However, with development and common use of the bank card, the shortcoming of traditional ATM with indirect connectivity reveals out gradually, such as the not unified technical standard, the more transaction links, the low success rate, the high mistake rate, the low operational efficiency and the high fault rate. In nowadays vigorous cybereconomy, it is undoubtedly an important subject in front of us how to make ATM offer much better financial service and improve further on management and maintenance.This paper creative introduce a concept that ATM with direct connectivity, design wireless ATM auto-service system with direct connectivity based on GPRS using GPRS technology. It overcomes all sorts of shortcomings of traditional ATM with indirect connectivity, and has improved the environment of using card, and the success rate of the transaction. GPRS, the English abbreviation of General Packet Radio Service, is a kind of technology of packet radio switch based on GSM system and offers wireless IP connection of end-to-end and wide area. This paper designs wireless GPRS gateway which is a special-purpose Access Point Name of enterprise combine with Virtual Private Network. It forms form a wireless channel of VPN between ATM and enterprise networks, and solves the security of the network and requirement of the data privacy inside enterprises, improve flexibility and mobility of ATM.The whole system includes four parts: ATMC, ATM Preprocessing (ATMP), monitoring and managing system based on Browser/Server model, GPRS gateway. Theauthor had participated in the design of the whole system and the development of ATMP system. ATMP system adopts UNIX operating system and ORACLE database, takes C and C ++ language as the programming language, software development adopts modularization design, and it adopts the method of software engineering in ATMP system analysis, design, development and test.It is showed by practices that the design and implementation of the system has filled the blank in ATM with direct connectivity network system building of our country, and it offers a good experiment tool for bank card researcher who pursue ATM pluralism of investment subject and service-specialization for ATM.
