In this paper, the simulation principle was reviewed and the advantage of simulation research and the feasibility of the project discussed first. Then, the MATLAB software functions and tools, especially Simulink and the real-time workshop(RTW) were introduced. With the MATLAB tools, the creeping experiment autocontrol system model, including system identification of temperature target, controller selection and optimization, etc. were established. Based on the model, the simulation results were analysed. Later, the real-time control model was built using the RTW and produced the real time code. After that, the theoritical model was implemented on the laptop control unit with a collection card and the real physics model with other hardwares integrated in. Finally, the results of real physics model were compared with those of the simulation. The comparison shows that the simulation results are consistent with those of the real-time control. All of this work and results proved that MATLAB simulation for real-time control is feasibility and would greatly reduce the development time. During the development of the creeping experimental autocontrol system, the control technique and MATLAB simulation technique were combined together to achieve the scheduled goals. The techniques developed and the results obtained would be helpful to the design of other similar system and will play an important role in the related research and development fields.
