Oil contamination control is one of the most important tasks of the oil using and maintenance. The oil contamination level is a quantitative parameter of the oil contamination measurement. It is also an important proof of the oil contamination control. The measurement devices of the oil contamination used at present are either expensive or hard for use. Nowadays, as the popularity of enterprise information, it is necessary to reform the traditional industries with information technology, to reduce the using cost of new technology and to improve the popularity and development of the oil contamination control.The study of the dissertation combines oil contamination control technology with optical microscopic technology, image capturing technology, mathematics morphology technology, computer processing and control technology, statistics technology, and database technology in accordance with the basic principles and theories of software engineering. The first step of the oil contamination level measurement process is to make oil sample filter according to the standard of the oil contamination control. Then the computer captures the microscopic digital image of the oil sample filter by the cooperation of CCD camera and CNC stage of the microscope. Referring to the corresponding oil contamination level classifying standard and measurement method, the image is preprocessed, segmented, and post processed by the computer. At last the computer measures the sizes of the particles and outputs the result. The main tasks of this paper are as follows:Introduces the development and application background of the oil contamination and its measurement method.Studies the hardware structure of the oil contamination level measurement with computer technology and the making method of the oil sample filter.Studies the software architecture of the system. Models the system by means of Unified Modeling Language (UML).Studies the digital microscopic image capturing method of the particles in the oil in accordance with varies of measurement standards. Studies compressing and transform of the digital image and its operation in Visual C++ development environment. .For the purpose of detecting the particles image from the whole background image, pre-processes, segments the image and obtains the black-white level digital image of particles eventually by means of image segmentation.Studies the measurement of the particle in the oil. According to the areas, circumferences and dimensions of the particles, classifies oil contamination level by means of statistics principle.According to the researched works, points the next step of studying direction.
