History of Chinese media of Southeast Asia is complicated and changeful. It had been prospering in three periods: before and after the 1911 Revolution, in the 1920's or 1930's, and in the initial stage after World War II. Otherwise it had been declining in the World War II and 1960's or 1970's, and it has been recovering in recent years. By the study from the perspective of international relations, news media, and Overseas Chinese, this thesis thinks audience factor, character of Chinese media, China factor, international and Southeast Asia's situation, and media technology, talent and management are main influencing factors of Chinese media of Southeast Asia. And thinks changes and influences of these factors have determined the change of Chinese media of Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, by the analysis of above factors, this thesis thinks the prospect of the Chinese media of Southeast Asia is optimistic, and commercialization, internationalization and localization are developing directions. Innovation of this thesis is the systemic and overall explanation for Chinese media of Southeast Asia by analyzed news media, Overseas Chinese and international relations synthetically.
