Research And Implementation Of A Web-based Teaching Management System Using XML

The enterprises have accumulated a lot of data during their development process. However, being affected by all kinds of factors, different parts of the data have already adopted different database management systems, hence they become heterogeneous data sources. Therefore, heterogeneous data integration and sharing is becoming a practical problem during the enterprises' information construction process. And it also becomes a major problem, which limits the construction of the enterprises' various application system and data-sharing model. Inevitably, it results in repeat investment during the information construction process.This paper mainly focuses on the network teaching administration system. After clarifying all possible existing problems during the course of heterogeneous data integration, it brings forward a solution for data integration based on XML technology and introduces how to combine XML technology, messaging services, and .NET platform altogether in the solution. In addition, this paper explores the architecture, application advantage and powerful support of .NET, the new enterprise distributed developing platform. Moreover, this paper analyzes the problems in the concrete data integration and provides the solution to them.The method to do research in this thesis is combining theoretical model together with implementation. Firstly, it proposes a theoretical model of data integration platform. Secondly, it explores the design of the platform in detail and analyses how to extract meta data from heterogeneous data sources. In particular, it emphasizes how to implement the mapping from relational model to XML model and heterogeneous data real-time transportation by message-oriented middleware. Then, it illustrates the data integration application in teaching administration system with the instance of system implementation. In addition, it makes an in-depth research on architectural design and security of the network teaching administration system. Finally, it summarizes the research results and lists the functions to be improved.
