Study And Application Of City Road Virtual Scene Quick Generation Based On Graphic Modeling

Virtual reality and computer simulation technology provide us with advantage to research and develop road traffic driving simulator. Research of vehicle driving simulator for road traffic problems should have the expecting scene Imaging to the driver. On the one hand, Creating virtual scene of complicated traffic facility by using OpenGL has become very difficult, which is not easy to create city road net virtual scene because OpenGL having not advanced function.This paper analyses city road characters and researches design arithmetic of plan thread and vertical curve based on Graphic Building. Creating city road modeling is calculated by uniform centerline modeling integrating vertical section and transect modeling. In this paper, city road is predigested as plan T type, decussating, circular intersection and interchange parametric design math's modeling.As practice of above-mentioned theories, the author adopted VB 6.0 to transfer AutoCAD 2002 object model library secondary developed city road virtual scene fast creating software.The core of the system is to use the models to create the virtual scene data quickly, and realize to assign automatically the landscapes, such as road traffic facility, traffic marking, sign and trees, etc. Software VRCityRoad can create city road virtual scene on the basis of AutoCAD's electronic graphic offered by the planning and design unit, and provide coordinates exchange foundation. Cooperating the research of the traffic flow, the system can give out the traffic routes of the traffic flows .As the application of software VRCityRoad, which is based on city road of Kunming, have output the virtual scene of a piece of road of the first ring road reconstructing scheme in the Kunming city traffic integration renovation project. VRCityRoad can structure the road basic figure of the city and obtain the city road virtual scene data file conveniently, fast and flexibly.Through these researches, this thesis discussed about the virtual scene creating of the driving simulator. VRCityRoad has been verified in the applications. Thissoftware has built a good foundation for the wide application of the road-traffic driving simulator.
