Nowadays mobiles are indispensable in our life. With the technological development, the function of mobiles is not limited to communication itself. A large amount of information including phone book, SMS, notes and daily scheduling is stored in it. When we need input information into the mobile or backup it from the mobile, we have to connect the mobile to a computer to perform to perform input or backup operations by software. The architecture and the implementation of Mobile Manager based on COM technology is specified, especially the key technology. The Mobile Manager is able to control the mobile to complete the tasks as follows:Query, modify and delete phone book entries.Send, receive and delete SMS.Send group SMS.Query mobile manufacturer identification, revision identification, product serial number identification and TE character set etc.Backup the phone book, SMS to database or text file.Restore the phone book, SMS from database or text file.Make a phone call. The Mobile Manager not only controls mobiles, but also expands the communication function of computers. Computers may be connected via SMS or GPRS provided by mobiles. In this paper, infrared mobiles mean that mobiles are equipped with the infrared communication adapters and can communicate by infrared. The infrared mobile can communicate with computers, infrared mobiles, PDAs on standard infrared protocols. The computer connected with an infrared mobile can set or query the mobile information by AT command, provide additional storage, input with the computer keyboard. Between two infrared mobiles, they can share resource and information, play games. With the development of infrared communication technology and wireless communication technology, more and more mobiles will be equipped with the infrared adapter in order to improve the expansibility. Many electronic devices can communicate by infrared besides mobiles, such as multi-functional meters, notebooks, PDAs, TV sets. Infrared transmission speed now is from 57.6kbsp(SIR) to 16Mbps (VFIR) so that it can be used more widely. In my paper the infrared adapter made by Agilent HSDL-1100 and surface mount components can be connected to the infrared socket. It can communicate with mobiles at 57.6kbps.The HSDL-1100 contains a high speed, high efficiency, 870 nm LED, a silicon PIN photodiode, and a bipolar, silicon integrated circuit. The IC contains an LED driver and a receiver providing two output signals, RXD-A for signal rates from 2.4 to 115.2 Kb/s and RXD-B for signal rates of 576 Kb/s and 4.0 Mb/s.COM (Component Object Model) founded by Microsoft is the most widely applied nowadays. COM defines a standard for component interoperability independent on any particular programming language available on multiple platforms and extensible. DCOM (Distributed COM) extends COM to support communication among objects on different computers—on a LAN, a WAN, or even the Internet. With DCOM, your application can be distributed at locations that make the most sense to your customer and to the application. With the development of COM, software quality is improving and the develop cycle is shortening. But the advantage in update and modification is really the most important. In this papar, the application is coded by ATL on loose-couple architecture. The release application has small size, is easy to modify or update and even can be auto-updated through the Internet.AT command set is the industry standard language used to communicate with the modem. Your modem is always either in the command mode, or the on-line mode. Settings made via AT commands are automatically reused by the modem until another command is received to change them, or the modem is turned off. With the mobile coming forth, mobile manufacturer used AT command to control mobile terminal. GSM AT commands are used for controlling mobile equipment (ME) functions and GSM network services from a mobile. In this paper, AT command set for GSM Mobile Equipment (ME)(GSM 07.07 version 7.4.0 Release 1998) is sent to...
