Research On Resource And Environment Information System Based On Com GIS

Component software technology is a new kind of software engineering technology that developed after and as an extension of the Object Oriented technology. A new concept has been put forward since the rising of the Component software technology. The use of component GIS has provided opportunities for the innovation and improvement of various GIS application systems. Component GIS is a kind of application of Object Oriented technology and component software technology in GIS software development. It properly abstracts GIS functions and provides them to users as components, which makes it take on many advantages that the traditional GIS lack. Therefore, it provides completely new idea to solve the problems the traditional GIS faces.Though component GIS has been widely used in many fields, its application in the area of resource and environment information system in Karst is currently seldom. In this paper, the development of Geographic Information System and the current research hot topics were expatiated and resource and environment information system based on traditional GIS and component GIS separately were compared. According to activities of resource and environment information management, this paper, combined with development of resource and environment information system, provides assistant decision supports for reasonable exploitation, utilization and planning of resource and protection of environment. The principles of component technology and its features and the method of its redevelopment were discussed in detail. This paper takes component GIS technique to finish the design of Guiyang city resource and environment information system from the aspects of the need analysis of the system, system structure, system functions, database structure, integrated methods and etc. This paper practices the integration of multi-sources data, creation of map layers, and mapping of the matic maps in development of resource and environment information system. Finally, with the ComGIS software MapObjects that made by ESRI, the author developed the integrated system in C++ Builder of Borland/Inprise.By applying Com GIS technology in the development of resource andenvironment information system, the existing abundant resource and environment materials could be managed conveniently. It will benefit the reasonable exploitation and utilization of resource and protection of environment. For all of these researches, the paper provided a technical pattern for constructing Guiyang city resource and environment information system, and it also offered the experience in using ComGIS for regional resource and environment information system and other fields.
