Discussion About Chinese And Western Objectivity Of News Reporting

The purpose of thesis is to compare the great differences, which are caused by the differences of historical environment, social background, economy system and cultural tradition, between Chinese and western objectivity concept, one of the concepts of the journalism major, on the basis of logical analysis about news reporting and understanding about objectivity of news reporting in the class society. And it also tries to make use of the reasonable elements of western objectivity concept which is formed in the development of the history to serve Chinese journalism and conform and rebuild the objectivity professional concept of Chinese press circles. This thesis firstly uses the creation of news research and the mode of logical analysis to develop the notion of news, then investigate the different understanding about objectivity of the Chinese and western-The former regards it as the core problem of journalism, a principle, a value, a formula and runs after it seriously, while the latter regards it as a two-edged sword which can not only increase the authority of the news, but also lead to the change of political orientation and threaten the rule of the party, so it treats and weighs it carefully relating to the function and effect of news medium-After that, investigates and ponders over the developing process and source of Chinese and western objectivity historically-The production of Chinese and western news objectivity concept in inevitable response to the need of social information in certain condition. And it proves that the trend of objectivity principle is irreversible. In the rapids of long historical river, when developing objectivity principle and practicing, the Chinese, and the western have chosen two thoroughly different ways, then after analyzing it comes to the profound reasons causing the different understanding about objectivity principle of the Chinese and the western; differences of Chinese and western medium's nature, differences of reporters' thought mode and differences of culture tradition. At last the author advances seven pieces of advice for conforming and rebuilding the objectivity concept of Chinese press circles; news can not be purely objective fact from the angle of the property of macro class; the concept of objectivity is the unity of information nature and politics nature in a broad sense.Being a professional concept of certain system, objectivity is commonly used in the field of Journalism major; In the specified news report, objective reporting theme is prior and objective news reporting methods should be strictly obeyed; There is no contradiction between the persistence of standpoint; The attitude of remaining neutral advocated by objectivity and avoiding subjective tendency is many-sided; Setting up the operation requirements and methods for objective news reporting under the guide of objective principle is necessary to make Chinese journalism more scientific and normal.Research MethodThis thesis adopts a research method combined by logical analysis, parallel and effect research, cross-subject research and so on. In order to obtain comprehensive and objective understanding of the objectivity, it not only compares the Chinese objectivity with the western one from the angle of historical development in depth and from the angle of both sides' present situation horizontally, but also does cross and contrast effect research from the angle of economy, culture and moral values.
