The Empirical Research On News Objectivity Of Controversial Coverages

The news objectivity has been regarded as "a god that won’t die" in the press, and it is one of the journalistic professional creeds in news media. The news objectivity relates to the survival and extinction of the press.So it is very important to make a study of the new objectivity which has been exeperiencing for a long time but continues to be a new problem.Based on a large number of literature reading,this research summarizes controversial coverages’news objectivity empirical research framework,and manily makes use of the true,impartiality to discuss the news objectivity. The research finds that there are still some reasons affecting the news objectivity of controversial coverages, such as the low level of verification in the three elements of introduction, many critical statements and emotional words, excessively using of omniscient perspective,lack of diversity within the message sources.According to the results of data analyses,this research proposes the methods to follow the controversial coverages’news objectivity:mentioning the three exact elements of news in the news leads and applying the Inverted Pyramid structure frequently;using exact message sources and cautiously using anonymous message sources;quoting correctly and trying to secure speaker’s intent;separating the fact from value;being impartial;presenting different opinions and balancing the right of discourse.
