Development Of Management Information System For Middle And Small-Sized Foundry Enterprise

As we know, the competitive power of the middle and small foundry enterprise in the same trade is weaker. One of reasons is the nonstandard business management and laggard supervisor mode. The adoption of advanced management information system could help the standardization of management for middle and small-sized foundry enterprise, improve the management level and increase the economic situation. But at present, there is no management information system suitable for this kind of enterprises. So the development of management information system for middle and small-sized foundry enterprises has an important significance.Based on the extensive investigation on middle and small-sized foundry enterprises, this paper developed a suit of practical management information system for middle and small-sized foundry enterprises with the help of prototype method and exploiting route from bottom to top. The system found on the microcomputer and the dimension is small. The system is composed of four modules that are indent management, quality management, storage management and wage management.Under Windows 2000 and by use of Microsoft Access of Office 2000, the database in this system was created, and also the save and management of data was implemented. The user program was developed by means of VB language. At the same time, the data of system is connected by calling the ADO widget in Visual Basic and the storage and calling of system data is finished.The interface of the user program is friendly and the operation of program is easy. The four modules in the system basically satisfied with the management requirement of middle and small foundry enterprises. Especially in the quality management module, the general casting defects are displayed in the manner of histogram and trend chart. The manager and technician could know the situation of casting defects clearly and take the corresponding measures to improve thequality of castings. The application of the system standardized the management of middle andsmall sized foundry enterprises to some extent and supplied the accurate bases of decision-making for managers so that the competitive power of the foundry enterprises is strengthened.
