The Data Mining Of Population Information Based On GIS

GIS, a new borderline science ,is a multi-science combination of computer science, geographical and geological science,siirveying and drawing science,environmental science,space science, information science and management science, etc. Supported by computer hardware system and software system, it collects, stores, manages, analyzes and describes the space information system of the data concerning the whole or part of the earth surface, space and geographical distribution. GIS is a kind of high tech , which fuses computer figure and data base together to store and deal with space information. Combing geographical position with the related property, according to the need of subscribers, GIS outputs space information and its property to the subscribers exactly, truly and vividly, in order to meet the need that urban construction, business management and resident life have. In addition, with the aid of the peculiar space analyzing function and visible conveying function, GIS conducts various auxiliary decision making. The development project "Shenyang Population statistics GIS "is put forward on condition that GIS develops at full speed esp, GIS tech is widely used in domestic fields and achieues good results. The combination of population information and geographical information not only makes further improve mext on management level of population information, but also opens up a new way of the application of population information to serve better the study of population regularity, maling population policy as well as the strategy about the continuous development of economy and society, etc. Therefore, both developed countries and developing countries are studying one after another and establishing a population GIS which fits in census and household registration system.Data Mining is aprocevs by which we can discover the hidden, unknown before, protential and useful information from much date .As a technology, it has been applied in many areas. However, it is still strange in population information management. On the basis of GIS, population information mining mainly improves man_computer interface of Data Mining realizing that the process of Data Mining is visible. Visibilization of mining result makes the mined knowledge serve auxiliary decision better.This paper is intended to discusses the concept, characteristic of GIS and the method ,key factors in creating Shenyang population statistics GIS using Mapinfo and creating a data warehouse about population statistics information. It describes not only the concept and structure of metadata but alse the function of metadata in data warehouse design and execution. Through analyze the general procedure of dada mining, OLAP and some other technique about them. It present a data warehouse creating scheme about population information . Moreover, it also present a method to develop a decision support system on population information based on GIS using data warehouse, dada mining.
