Data Warehouse Based Generic Multi-Strategy Data Mining Tool-MSMiner

With the rapid development and application of computer technologies, huge amount of data has accumulated. But much useful information is buried under the data. So the tools and technologies for discovering valuable information from the data intelligently and automatically is developed with great importance.This thesis studied how to integrate Data Warehouse with Data Mining technologies to provide fast, effective and multi-strategy data mining solutions. And based on this idea, we implemented a Generic Multi-Strategy Data Mining Tool -MSMiner.In order to effectively utilize metadata to control both data warehouse and data mining tasks, we designed an object-oriented metadata structure, in which the metadata is encapsulated into many objects and the objects are organized into a hierarchical model. The metadata is accessed through the object model. This design ensures the system good coherence and maintainabilityIn the thesis, we discussed the design of a simple but effective data warehouse platform.
