Sometimes, in the process of news broadcasting, the effect of communication can't reach the original goal of media, and the perception of audience may not accord with the intention of communicator. That means the failure of communication. Moreover, news broadcasting shall not fulfill its glorious duty to direct people with correct consensus.This thesis consists of three parts except for prelude and conclusion.In the prelude, I shall make it clear that why I choose this topic as my study. Beginning with the expected effects of news broadcasting, I'll talk about some problems, which may happen in the process of news broadcasting, and negative effects caused by them. Then, I'm to describe the meaning of such a study.The first part provides a definition of 'false cognition'. It consists of two units.1. The difference between two concepts related to false cognition: False cognition is different from the misunderstanding of audience, so is it from the bias of audience.2. Analysis on the process of communication: This unit indicates that false cognition of audience is inevitable while receiving information.The second part investigates the types of false cognition and their negative effects, as well as the reason why they appear. This part consists of two units.1. Any factor, among communicator, media, information, and social context, may result in false cognition during the process of communication. These factors can stimulate audience all sorts of psychological reactions, such as empathizing, perspective expectation, thought formulation, and so on. Through analyzing psychological reactions of audience, I'll categorize false cognitions and explore the reason why false cognitions happen.2. According to incidents happened in realistic situation, I am to explore the negative effects resulted from false cognition of audience, by investigating the contradiction between expected effect and realistic effect.In the third part, some suggestions on how to reduce false cognition are given. In order to reach this goal, we must pay enough attention to the feedback of information, and adjust the method to communicate with audience. Under the fierce competitive situation in the field of mass communication, the media must develop fixed communication relationship with audience fairly.The conclusion presents us with the generalization of this research, and illuminates some shortages of this research.Though analyzing the false cognition of audience, I want to help the communicator realize the reason why false cognitions happen, so that they can adjust their action to communicate effectively, and make a good use of media in the society.
