Applying XML Technology To Improve On The Protocol Z39.50 Of ILAS System In The Library

Along with the development of the network technology, the traditional library is faced with great challenge. How to adapt to network environment and to satisfy the people's more and more requirement about the information resource has become the research hotspot in the information field.This thesis introduces the automation system ILAS in our library,discusses the procol Z39.50 deeply,analyzes the applying status of the procol Z39.50 in the information field all over the world currently. Aim at how to exert the Web serving faction,to adapt the internet development,to satisfy the construct of digital library,two improving methods have been brought forward and the particular realization methods be put forward.In order to adapt the development of the network information,to make use of the library resource fully ,the library automation system ILAS has added Web serving faction,this profits from the application of the procol Z39.50.the procol Z39.50 is a international standard of information search in the library field,but the research and application of it' in homeland is started just now.In the procol,the traditional data structure technology ASN. 1/BER is adopted. The BER coding is quite overloaded, and the realization method is very dufficult,it only provides the traditional bibliography searches and it can't satisfy the people's individuation search demond.This thesis provides a method of coding the ASN. 1 in the procol Z39.50 applying the XML technology .MARC format is the main express form of the library bibliography resource currently. As it's proprietary, a large numbers of bibliography resource can't be provided to common readers of internet. Along with the development of network technology,it has a instancy need to conversion MARC format to the information that the browser can recognize. The language XML not only can expresses the metadata,but also can show the content of data.lt can provide individuation page layout. It is a efficacious approach to solve this problem.This thesis provides the concrete method particularly.
