In this paper, the hoist and lower automatic control system for stage and orchestra is designed, which is necessary to high technical equipment for those newly built theaters. Hoist or lower stage consists of 7 pieces stage. In this system, it is desired that 7 pieces can move freely and stop exactly and be steady within demanded area, and that error do not exceed 2-mm. Designed orchestra is a steel platform that can support band's performance. The control system can make hoist or lower orchestra start and stop between bottom ground floor and stage mesa of hole, and automatically keep the same level with stage in the place of bottom ground and stage mesa. At the same time, essential protective electro circuit is designed for safe.It chooses PC bus industry programmable computer and programmable controller as the host computer and designs two independent systems to control hoist or lower the stage and orchestra separately. For the sake of running safely, it applies AC motor with brake as the power device that adopt frequency conversion mode and inter lock and journey switch in electric circuit. Under Windows2000 operating system, the control software of whole system is developed by C ++ Builder and the programming method facing targets is used in the software. The system operation is simple , convenient and valid through running in practice.In this system design, AC motor with the brake replaces traditional hydraulic transmission. Combined computer control technology and frequency conversion technology, the system can fulfill the task of control and avoid expansive cost on importing equipment. It is important that this method offers a new idea for design of the control system of stage.
