With the development of e-business, the data of enterprise information processing become more and more. The concept of Enterprise Information Portal( EIP) arises at the moment. It not only provides uniform application interface for enterprise users, but also integrates data of enterprise and application (including ERP). In order to offer a single information access point to administrator, employee, supplier, users, retail trader of enterprise, it adopts popular B/S mode now. This mode not only economizes the cost of investment for enterprise, but also reduces expenditures of system development and maintenance. It realizes real meaning "thin client" concept.This thesis introduces the concept of Enterprise Information Portal and the significance of its research at first, and recounts three kernel technologies including the source and the expression of information, the flow of information and the security of information. This thesis points out the deficiency of these three parts in practice and makes a research on the three sides combined with XML technology. This thesis introduces the production and development in XML, and expounds its grammar structure and data processing technology. It analyses DOM interface and SAX interface and difference of each other, and introduces relation of XML and database.This thesis discusses the three sides of EIP kernel technology based on the standard of XML and the system structure of EIP, including content management based on XML technology, workflow management based on XML technology and directory information security based on XML and LDAP.Firstly this thesis investigates resolving scheme that can describe structure document and half structure document (not structure document) by XML in content management. It also analyses the performance of dealing with XML document in DOM interface and proposes a delay unwrap method based on DOM. This method alleviates the performance bottleneck in dealing XML document to a certian extent.Secondly, this thesis introduces the conception of workflow, reference models and the deficiency firstly, and expatiates a workflow system model based on the trackof the document. This model describes the users' tasks and the tracks of their tasks by XML standard, and realizes that it tracks the workflow document in real time.Then this thesis introduces the conception, directory information description (realized by DSML), directory security and so on.Lastly, this thesis points out that the trend of EIP is knowledge management and introduces the background about knowledge management and realization base the Semantic Web, then introduces then concept of the Semantic Web, the difference of WWW and the Semantic Web, three kernel technologies of the Semantic Web including XML, RDF and Ontology, and research evolvement of the Semantic Web.This thesis realized the above instances, combining with the Document Object Mode interface methods provided by Microsoft in the network application environment based on B/S architecture. It realizes the above instances in the information management of hospital.
