The Research Of Flexible WorkFlow System Based On Ontology

Traditional Workflow Management Systems usually carry on the rigid definition to the workflow models. However, in real life situations, users should be permitted to deviate from the prescribed static workflow definition for various reasons. Then, the concept of flexible workflow is proposed. So how to solve the flexibility question in the real life execution of workflow becomes the hot issue in the current researches. Many domestic and foreign scholars,as well as the scientific research institutions have made thorough research and attempt to the issue.The paper proposes an ontology-based framework for flexible workflow execution, on the base of former researches. The framework makes use of the inference technology of Ontology to solve the question of router-selection in the real life execution of workflow. Meanwhile, the framework also carries on the inference and preservation to the strategy flexible match. Then it carries out the revision t definition of execution router indirectly.The first chapter of this thesis is the introduction. We introduce the topic background and the domestic and foreign research present situations. Then we introduce the realization goal and significance of the topic.The second chapter of this thesis is the introduction of work flows. In this chapter we introduce the origin and the development of the workflow technology as well as the workflow management system. Then, the related technology of workflow is elaborated. At last of the chapter, the flaws of the current workflow system are proposed.The third chapter of this thesis is the Ontology theory introduction. We have introduced the related concept of Ontology, the description language as well as the modeling methods. Meanwhile, we have introduced the main tools of Ontology modeling in current days. In chapter four, we have introduced Web Services technology and the system framework of semantic Web Services.The fifth chapter of the thesis is the core part of the paper. We have introduced the system framework of flexible workflow based on Ontology. Then we have carried on the description to each constituent of the system framework in detail.
