| Informatization Technology for Manufacturing is a necessary choice for the enterprises to improve their capabilities of innovation and market competition. Application Service Provider(ASP), the new informatization service mode based on Internet, is the good scheme for both manufacturing enterprises and information service companies. Based on this background, the paper carried out some exploring researches in ASP technology.Based upon analyzing the concept of ASP, the provided services and the function of the service platform, the ASP service process was presented and the model of ASP service platform was established. The ASP customers and their requirements were analyzed. The relationship among customers' requirements, resources in ASP and provided services were discussed. The ASP service process was described. Based on considering the task for consigning design, one content of ASP service, Quality Function Deployment (QFD) was imported into ASP system. The research how to meet the customers' requirements during each phase of product design was carried out. The framework for QFD software system in ASP platform was advanced and the procedure was introduced for information processing in each phase of QFD. A simple ASP platform was established and some programs were developed such as customers' registration, customers' requirements input and customer collection's generation, output of product planning matrix, technology requirements co-related matrix and partdeployment matrix in QFD. An example was given to show the running process of the developed software system and the results. The feasibility of development method and the practicality of the software were proved.The work of the paper is a beneficial attempt research in ASP. The obtained results have theoretical and practical significance in promoting ASP technology research, accelerating.the spread and application of ASP technology. The developed software has important reference value in establishing ASP application service system.
