Advanced Manufacturing Technology Laboratory of National Engineering Research & Technology Centre for Manufacturing Automation (AMT-Lab hereafter) has a production system which is comprised of six CNC machining equipments,a AGV,an automatic highbay warehouse. The objective of establishing the AMT-Lab is for investigation and researches on manufacturing automation techniques suitable for China's situation by adopting idea of Comtemporary Integrated Manufacturing.This research is for solving information integration and scheduling problem in the AMT-Lab.Based on the implementation of the integration at the physical level of the production system and the implementation of automation on cell and equipment level,investigation and analysis about development in manufacturing automation technology,especially the information integration and scheduling approaches and techniques on manufacturing automation system has been carried out,the Ethernet and SQL Server,Univertial Data Access technology and SOCKET programing interface,have been used for implementation of information integration. A combined scheduling approach has been used for scheduling on the shopfloor.
