Automated Test System has been applied in a lot of areas through three-step development. It includes information collection,transmission and procession and become one of the important parts of information technology. But the test software develops slowly and has a lot of shortcomings. Programmers have to develop new test software when test projects and test requirements change. The thesis proposes the thought of GPIB-based Automated Test System configuration software for most intelligent instruments are equipped with GPIB interface. The research on configuration software is one of the important application researches of Automated Test System.The thesis discusses the development and current condition of test software,analyses the frame and theory of Automated Test System,and put forward the design idea of Automated Test System configuration software.The software design desktop is Borland C++ Builder. During the course of design,I analyze the theory of all kinds of instruments and GPIB protocol and realize five parts of the software respectively. At the same time,I apply LabWindows/CVI in virtual instrument design because of its rich components and functions. Experiments prove that this kind of method reduce the burden of programmer and broaden the application area of the software.The drive and synchronization problem of GPIB-based Automated Test System are discussed to ensure fluent running of the software.
