The software radio is a novel system which recently appears for implementing wireless telecommunication and has been an important subject in the field of radio application and has brought more and more attention home and abroad.The up-to-date study status on the software radio home and abroad is tracked and the basic theories on the software radio are demonstrated in detail. Then the personal computer and Windows operating system are respectively chosen as the common hardware platform and the software one, which is based on the project argument. The whole architecture of the software radio system is divided into five modules including wide band antenna and radiant frequency front-end module, wide band ADC and DAC one, digital converter one, digital signal processing one with high speed and instruction processing one. Accordingly some technical theories are analyzed and key techniques to solve these questions are stated in the every module at length. During the software design, the modularization design of SDR is accomplished with Borland C++ Builder and the digital-down converter module program is written . FIR digital filter and HB digital filter are programmed with window function method in the filter module and CIC digital filter is designed by software program so that the system can realize digital converter and filter functions. In the end the paper gives the error analysis and points out the error source in the course of data processing.
