This dissertation aims at studying the sexism phenomena existing in the news reports in the main daily newspapers of China. After studying a large number of domestic newspapers, the author thinks that the sexism phenomena existing in the news reports lie in three aspects, that is, the feudal concept on women is reflected in the news reports; women have become the newspapers' weapon of gaining readers in the fierce news market's competition; Chinese women are not represented in the news reports. The author thinks the reason why women are distorted in the news reports lies in four aspects: the feudal concept in Chinese history; the economy society reality; the absence of self-conciousness of Chinese women, and the sexism existing in the media. In order to improve the reports on Chinese women, the author thinks that the government should struggle to improve Chinese women's living conditions; Chinese women should build their confidence, and the media should improve the status of woman journalists.
