Research On System Based On WebGIS For Evaluating Losses Of Flood Disaster By B/S Mode

Geographical Information System is such a system which deals with the geographical spatial data, it not only manages the spatial properity of the physical entities in the natured world, but also manages the information about the people etc. With the rapid progress of Distributed Computing Technology. Object-Oriented Component Technology and the popularity of Internet, it comes a new technology-WebGIS, which is a integration of WWW and GIS. WebGIS has now become one of the most important direction of GIS and has been used in extensive domain, eg the applications in water resources.This paper works on how to develop a model, so that the flood disaster would be properly evaluated.The concept, development and application of GIS is introduced and the implementation-method is analyzed. It focus on spatial data management and the flood evaluating based on spatial analysis. In considering of the simplicity for the users and facility of system, the Browser/Server computing model is used.
