Smart power system is widely used in different industries; its market volume increases very fast. So the demand of its Control IC is very huge. The further developments of VLSI and SoC technology make, the more demanded the advanced smart power IP core library is. It is urgent and significant to develop IP Cores for Smart Power Control ICs of our own Intellectual Property and then a series of Smart Power Controllers.In the thesis, some of the most important functional modules of the Smart Power Control ICs are researched and designed, including voltage reference, voltage regulator, under voltage lockout, oscillator and zero-voltage comparator. Their topologies, schematics and layouts are introduced and developed. Although the structures of these modules are simple, they can work properly and efficiently in a wide range of ambient temperatures and supply voltage variations. Because of these characteristics, the IP cores can be easily reused in Smart Power Control IC design and SoC design.The IP cores designed in this thesis successfully meet all the specifications through simulation. The voltage references and regulators have been fabricated and successfully verified. The other finished IP cores could be signed off to the foundry to be taped-out. The thesis is considered as the basis of further development of Smart Power Control ICs and various SoC power management modules.
