Smart camera system is an integration of image acquisition, processing and display,that it can provide multi-functional, modular, high-performance and widely applicablemachine vision solutions. With the increasing demand of industrial test, higher and higherdemands are being put forward on the processing power and applications of smart camerasystem. Smart camera systems realization on the platform of DaVinci multiple processorshave characteristics such as high performance and long software development cycle. Takinginto these characteristics, this paper studies the dual-core underlying communicationmechanism, and analyzes the usage and optimization of dual-core shared memory andcodec-engine engineering structures.The DM6467T multimedia processor is consist of ARM, DSP, and abundant peripheralresources. While ARM is used as the general processor to realize peripheral control,interactive interface control, network communication and tasks like those, DSP is usedspecially for conducting complicated digital signal processing algorithm.With the thesis centering on the DM6467T platform, this paper proposes a DaVincidual-core processor communication solution for the smart camera system on the basis ofanalyzing the hardware structures of the processor in the first, and then respectively putsforward three other solutions. One is the realization of memory resource acesss and sharingbetween ARM and DSP through CMEM. The second is the analysis and optimization forunderlying communication of the two processors which is through DSPLINK. The third isthe method of packaging DSP algorithm using xDAIS algorithm standard, and based on this,putting forward the process of smart camera system software development through CEframework. Finally, this paper proves the feasibility, stability and efficicence of the dual-corecommunication mechanism by the test of applying the face detection algorithm in thesystem.
