Quality is crucial for the electronic equipment industry. For improving the quality, the enterprise must rely on not only science and technology but also a strong quality control. ERP is an idea that views the business as a whole. ERP system assists effective management of all internal functions of an enterprise. Quality control is an important information sub system of workshop level production management in ERP system. Its main function is collecting information, storing information, supporting query, building report forms.This paper studied a quality control information system (QIMS) based on a Foshan enterprise and mainly involved following aspects:1. The management ideas and methods of ERP was introduced, and Total Quality Management(TQM) system and the importance of the quality control in electronic industry was discussed in this paper;2. The architecture of the QMIS is analyzed in this paper, and the function and information models of QIMS are proposed. Meanwhile the details of the functional models are described. The main functions include information storing, data maintenance, query and statistical report.3. According to the different pattern of business, the arithmetic of automatic submitting based on FTP are presented and realized in this paper.4. According to software engineering technology, the QMIS based on a Foshan enterprise was developed by author. As a practical case, this paper describes the complete quality management system from module designing, man-machine interface designing and database designing, and implementation using C++ Builder program and SQL Server database.5. The key factor of the succeeding implements of ERP system in enterprise was discussed, and this paper also introduced the key module of this QMIS.Finally, the conclusion and the developing trend on QMIS are put forward.
