Since the2000s, because of the fierce market competition, the time of theproduct research and the cycle of the generation have improved very much. It istendency to use new manufacturing technology to meet the market needs. In thefield of the design and manufacture, using reverse engineering shrinks the timeof the product research.In order to research the sophisticated curved surface conveniently, chooseMedical measurement of spirometry use disposable mouthpieceto perform the reverse engineering.Firstly, it is very important to get the point of sophisticated curved surface.In my paper, choose the coordinate measuring machine based on our school’scondition to complete this step. Before the analysis of the surface of themouthpiece, advance a method to fit the surface to get the points. In this way itwill be more effective to get points and makes points more valid. So based onthis measure method, write the program which can be run on the CMMautomatically to finish the work and produce the points cloud. Secondly, usingthe program software Visual C++and points cloud got by the previous step,write the program to convert the points cloud into surface and produce a file thatmeets the graphic exchange standard of IGES. On the followed step usePro/Engineer to open the file of IGES to complete the CAD of mouthpiece. Atlast I use SLA to assign machining technics and produce it.
