The development and applying of CIMS(Computer Integrated Manufacture System) and CE(Concurrent Engineering) are giving assembly design a more highly requirement. As actual development status as concerned, the designing, making and managing of single part has realized considerate automatic and integrated level. Compared with that, due to their laggard actuality assembly design and manufacture couldn't be well integrated with other segments in product empoldering. These require assembly design and manufacture must be computerized to realize the whole integration and optimize. The information integration of designing and assembly plan is an important basis of computer aided automatic assembly. Assembly sequence is an important and complex problem.Based on the introduction of the project background and an overview of interrelated research, the familiar assembly modeling methods in assembly plan of home and abroad are analyzed, the based-on-feature assembly model used in this paper is created, and these problems are deeply researched such as feature's defining and classifying, assembly sequence modeling method and arithmetic in this paper.The two familiar methods of assembly modeling in home and abroad research of assembly plan are elaborated, which are based-on-relation assembly modeling and stratification assembly modeling. Assembly modeling based on feature are created.Analyzing engineering activity in design domain and assembly domain, the features classification and representation in design domain and assembly domain are discussed. The product's design features express as part's design information and information of assembly intention, and the product's assembly features express as the set of part's feature, liaisons' feature and technological feature. The product's assembly analysis integrated system is proposed.Based on the assembly model, the paper described assembly features information. The precedence constraint for parts' connection and their expression are described by three classes: geometrical precedence relation, special technical precedence relation, fuzzy technical precedence relation. Combining the advantage of the decomposition method and precedence constrain method, a generation of assembly sequence in integration is proposed. Using the assembly features information the method of cut-set, the paper gets the spanning tree of the assembly liaisons graph, and the basic cut-set of the spanning tree. Then it gets all the cut-set through loop-addition. Follow these, we can get the assembly sequences at last.Based on WINDOWS 98 and using Visual C++6.0, ASPIS (Assembly Sequences Plan Integrated System) is programmed. Main arithmetic flows of software are given and verified bythe example.The work supported by Robotics Laboratory, Chinese Academy of Sciences foundation (No: RL199905).
