During the maintenance process, optimal product assembly sequence has great influence on themaintenance efficiency, cost and quality. With the rapid development of computer simulationtechnology, information processing and artificial intelligence technology, assembly sequence planningtechnology is developing for digitalization and intelligentization. Therefore, the study on maintenanceassembly sequence planning in digital environment has important engineering application value andtheoretical significance. In this paper, we have a research on the function and architecture of theassembly sequence planning software, and give the working process.The theory of modeling methods in the maintenance assembly process is studied. Afteranalyzing the requirements of maintenance assembly model, the assembly modeling method isdeveloped which is based on structure dimension, process dimension and function dimension. Troughthe study of level structure information, components property information and assembly relationshipinformation, the method of model information expression, generation and storage is given. In order tomeet the requirement of assembly sequence planning, maintenance assembly simulation and assemblyperformance analyzing, the matching method of assembly model information is developed. Themodeling process of components of landing gear is taken for an example, which explains thepracticality of modeling methods.The maintenance assembly sequence planning method is studied. A feasible assembly sequenceis drawn when the assembly precedence diagram is built based on the maintenance componentsconnection. According to assembly interference matrix, feasible assembly direction is determined.The multi-station assembly sequence planning algorithm is built up from the assembly precedencediagram. The PSO was introduced to solve the multi-station assembly sequence planning andassignment problem, which minimize the cost. We prove the validity of the method by taking anaircraft nose landing gear system for an example.We develop a virtual maintenance assembly simulation software base on CATIA, whichachieves products assembly modeling and assembly sequence planning simulation. The simulationresults will give guidance for products maintenance design.
