A Study On The Existing Editions Of Chen Lv’s An Ya Tang Anthology

Chen Lv was a famous litterateur at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. At the same time, he was also one of the most important writers of theYuan Dynasty in Fujian Province. Chen, with Lu Qi,Lin Quansheng,Lin Yishun,was known as ’Celebrities in Min area’.His articles obtained more credits amongst the social celebrities.Yu Ji, Sa Dula and Su Tianjue thought highly of Chen.ChenLv’s handwriting also had redeemed features.In addition, his articles reflected his nice personalities, which would eventually be a worthy example of a respectable teacher for others after the time he lived. His works, are mostly incorporated into his collection of essays named An Ya Tang Anthology (also called as Chen Zhongzhong Collections), which have preserved thirteen volumes until today. Preserved editions of Lv Chen’s An Ya Tang Anthology have17versions. Each version has its own unique features, but also, more or less, there are all kinds of corruption. Through detailed research on all existing versions of An Ya Tang Anthology, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each version, to provide some useful lessons for further researchers of Chen Lv and his An Ya Tang Anthology.
