A Study On The Color Management Of Output Devices Based On The Icc Standard

Accurately reproducing, communicating and reappearing color information have always been an important subject in color publishing systems. International Color Consortium(ICC), a organization formed by some famous corporations such as Adobe etc. in 1993, formulated a international standard ?ICC standard for the Color Management System(CMS), which has been pushing on the CMS to develop in the direction of opening and standardization.The characteristic of appearing color of the output device has a deep effect on the printing color because of the limits of ink, paper etc. Thus, color management for the output device is the key of the CMS.On the basis of investigating the ICC standard and the characteristic of the appearing color of the output device, two kinds of algorithms for modeling the color output device profile-the modified Neugebauer equation model and the BP network model according to the structure of the output device profile given by the ICC standard; and the output device profile is built according to these presented algorithms, which is fit in with the ICC standard. Moreover, a software for building the color output device profile is developed under the environment of Microsoft Visual C++6.0 based on the operating system of Windows98.As a result, the thesis is of great value to the further research on the ICC-basedCMS and the designed software has certain applied values in the publishing field.
