Automobile wheel is important part of automobile. It's difficult for people to develop and check wheel because of their variety and complexity and high precision. It is in dire need of finding a new method to speed developing period and improve checking precision.After analysing functions and basic theory of Surfacer and studying key technology of object reverse engineering of complex parts, author expatiates data capture, data processing and surface reconstruction and summarizes methods and steps of surface reconstruction. By applying reverse engineering technology to wheel, Author achieves wheel 3D geometrical model reconstruction and establishes the basis of further design of succedent CAD/CAM systems. Combining with practice, Author gives the methods how to solve the problem of data transferring and CAM manufacturing.Based on theory of reverse engineering and error, author studies digitized check technology of machined parts with Surfacer software and UGn software and gives the methods how to apply digitized check technology into some typical machined parts. The methods have practical value because of higher precision and higher speed check, which is difficult for the conventional measurement methods and reference value to automation, flexibility and digitize of in-situ measurement.
