As the trend of the development of transportation in the 21st Century, the Intelligent Transportation System is being paid great attention extensively all over the world. The study of Traffic Theory, especially the study of Traffic Models, which is the foundation of ITS, is of great importance. However, China, compared with developed countries, started up researching on this filed much late. Also, due to the special characteristics of the mixed traffic of China, the existing traffic models overseas can抰 be directly used. As a result, developing a set of traffic models based on mixed traffic is in urgent need. This dissertation attempts to have some contribution on it.The main content and structure of this literature is as follows:1.We introduce the concept of ITS, its system of stmcture, and its developing situation in Chin& A summary of the existing traffic flow models and the analysis of the characters of some specific macro-models are given.2.We take an in-depth study on the Car-following Model. We carefully analyze several traditional car-following models and their stability. Furthennore, we discuss about the development direction of the model.3.With respect to the mixed traffic of motor-vehicles and non-motor-vehicles in China, we propose an improved car-following model-MixTCF. We find out that, through introducing the 揻ront-car-searching?module into the model, the uncertainty of the front car caused by the interference of non-motor-vehicles is well reduced.4.We focus on the micro-simulation system of traffic. Based on the improved car-following model M1xTCF, we have designed a simulation system 揟raffic?by using Visual C++. Moreover, the single-lane-car-following, double-lane-car-following, and the car-following of different types of vehicles are studied with simulations. The simulation results are in accordance with the model. Finally, we conclude and show the implications of future researches.
