With the rapid development of Intelligent Transportation System( ITS ), the traffic simulation of ITS is being paid great attention extensively all over the world. However, due to the special characteristics of the mixed traffic in China, the simulation system for urban mixed traffic does't exist up to now. So developing an urban microcosmic simulation system which aims at China's traffic becomes more important for the research of intelligent transportation system.The dissertation focuses on the study of road network modeling in urban traffic simulation and corresponding software system. The main contents and contributions are listed below:1. A new traffic road network model based on modularization is proposed in this dissertation, where every traffic entity is built up as independent target model individually according to the level relationship. And the high-level model owns the corresponding lower-level models and the relationship between them. And the model is easily expanded.2. Establishing a new model for traffic control and management. This dissertation proposes a new method named "Orientation Coding", encoding the orientation of traffic flow. Compared with previous models, the proposed model doesn't need huge states describing. Based on this, the traffic control for multi-phases is easy to realize.3. Establishing a public information platform between microcosmic simulationand GIS. The simulation kernel can exchange the real-time traffic data with GIS, which provides real-time traffic information for traffic prediction, traffic control and dynamic traffic guidance.4. Co-developing a traffic simulation system which named 'Simulation and Analysis System of Urban Mixed Traffic'( SASUMT ). And the verification of the Wensan Road-Wen'er Road one-way reconstruction is simulated using this system.Finally, the dissertation concluded with a summary and perspectives of future research.
